
Since 2006, the Department of Computational Physics and Information Technology (DFCTI) has developed the high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure of IFIN-HH, consisting of parallel clusters that successively evolved from Gigabit Ethernet and Myrinet to Infiniband communication technologies. Today, DFCTI offers access for heavier MPI computations to its IBM_BC cluster (IBM/Lenovo BladeCenter), which is endowed with more than 500 CPU cores and 40,000 GPU cores.
